What is Assam Ration Card?

The Assam Government, through the Public Distribution Scheme (PDS) of the Nation Food Security Act, 2013 issues ration cards to certain families of the state. A ration card is a document through which families of low income (as determined by PDS), or below the poverty line can avail food grains at a subsidised rate. Ration cards are now issued under the NFSA Scheme in Assam.

How to Check Assam Ration Card List?

You can check the Assam ration card list online. Here are the steps that you need to follow.

Step 1 - Visit the Assam PDS Official website https://pds.assam.gov.in/

Step 2 - Choose your district name.

Step 3 - You will then be taken to the Tehsil name page. Select your Tehsil.

Step 4 - Once you click on the Tehsil name, you will see all the village names.

Step 5 - After you select your village name, the list of all Assam ration cards 2025 will appear.

Families which have an annual income of less than Rs.1 lakh. They can avail 35kg/ration card.

PHH (Priority Household)

The PHH ration cards are given to families who live on an annual income of below Rs.1 lakh and they can avail 5kg/family member.

How to Apply for an Assam Ration Card?

You have to visit the concerned Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs branch office to apply for a ration card.

  • Visit the website of the PDS: https://pds.assam.gov.in/.
  • Click on 'PDS Stakeholders', and then choose 'In States'.
  • Once you choose 'District Food and Supply Officer', click on 'FPS Dealers.'
  • Click on the state.
  • You will be taken to a new window. Here, select the district and block/Tehsil.
  • Then choose 'view report.'
  • In every district page, you can search for 'department' and also locate the contact details.
  • You can then visit the office and collect the application form.
  • Fill in all details on the application form.
  • Attach the copies of all the required documents and submit your application.
  • The concerned authority will verify your application and documents and will also issue a receipt of the application to you.
  • If there is no objection with your application, you will get the ration card via post in a few weeks' time.

How to Change Address in Assam Ration Card?

In order to make changes to the address on your ration card, you will need to submit your original ration card and one of the following documents.

  1. Election identity card.
  2. Photo id.
  3. Driving license.
  4. PAN card.
